What is VeriTool?

VeriTool is the UK national serial-number register for tradespeople. You log the make, model and serial of your tools, and if anything is stolen we list it on the public register so buyers, police and pawn shops can check before they buy.

Yes — up to 15 tools, forever, with the full feature set. Pro and Pro+ simply increase how many tools you can register (100 and unlimited). No features are locked behind paid plans.

How fast can someone check a serial?

Anyone can paste a serial number into /check and get an instant result. No account needed.

What happens when I report a tool stolen?

Accepted Answer

It appears on the public stolen register straight away. We capture the postcode, force, crime reference and a contact relay so people who spot it can get in touch without seeing your phone number.

Do I need a crime reference number?

Accepted Answer

Not to list — but adding it later makes recovery much smoother and is required by most insurers. Call 101 to obtain one.

Will the police accept VeriTool as evidence?

Our Verified Ownership Packs are tamper-evident PDFs with a cryptographic hash. They're designed to support — not replace — your police report and insurance claim.

Can I transfer a tool to a new owner?

Transfer and fleet/multi-user features are on the roadmap. Today you can delete a tool or mark it inactive after a sale.

We're actively building partnerships. Insurers can verify packs via /verify/{ref} today; deeper integration is coming.

Is my data safe?

Yes, from your dashboard profile. Stolen reports may be retained in summary form for crime-prevention purposes.
