These Terms govern your use of VeriTool ("we", "us", "our"), a service operated from the United Kingdom that lets tradespeople register tools, prove ownership, and list stolen tools on a public register.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using VeriTool you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done under your account.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the tools, photos, receipts and notes you upload. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and process that content solely to provide the service — including listing stolen tools publicly when you choose to do so.
4. The public stolen register
- Listing a tool as stolen makes its make, model, serial number, photos and the area it was stolen from publicly searchable.
- You must only mark a tool as stolen if it has genuinely been stolen and you are the lawful owner.
- False reports are a serious offence and may be reported to police.
5. Ownership Packs
Verified Ownership Packs are evidentiary documents generated from the data you provide. We do not guarantee their acceptance by any specific insurer or police force.
6. Paid plans
Paid plans are billed through Paddle (our merchant of record). Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your account. UK statutory rights, including the 14-day right of withdrawal, apply where relevant.
7. Acceptable use
You must not abuse the service — no scraping, brute-force lookups, impersonation, harassment, or uploading data you don't own. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. Where required for crime-prevention purposes we may retain limited stolen-report data in summary form.
9. Liability
VeriTool is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we exclude all implied warranties. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded by UK law. Otherwise our total liability to you is capped at the greater of £100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
